Workshop: Ghumat
Thomas Stephens Konknni Kendr successfully organized 5 day Ghumat workshop at its office at Porvorim from 2nd to 6th May’ 23 in which altogether 18 participants have successfully completed the said workshop. Mr. Suraj Pinge was the chief conductor.
During the concluding function held on the 6th May, all the trainees presented compact performance of Ghumat playing depicting different laya and talas. Mr Pinge extended compliments to all the trainees for their commendable grasping power and memory. He also extended hearty thanks to all the parents for encouraging the student to participate in the process of preservation and promotion of traditional folk art.
All the participants were awarded certificates at the hands of the Fr. Kelwyn Monteiro, Co-ordinator. Fr. Juze Silvera and conductor Mr. Pinge. Dr. Pandurang Phaldesai director of the Kendr welcomed the gathering and proposed vote of thanks.
